Why We Chose the Monarch Butterfly as Our Logo
Did you know that a monarch butterfly's body is poorly designed for flight, but it uses adaptive strategies to get to its destination? Amazingly, scientists have released monarchs in various locations throughout North America curious about whether they would be confused and not able to find their way. They do find their way; it just takes more time. We know individuals with rare disease and complex medical needs can find their way also and so can all those who benefit from Monarch's services.
We believe the technique of adaptive strategies is true for many people, which is what we do at Monarch Cares. We locate or help create adaptive strategies for enhancing life and creating opportunities and options for those with rare diseases, medical needs, and/or disabilities.
